In case you didn’t know: summer in Las Vegas is unbelievably hot. Here’s what I’m doing about it.
I have been trying to create a cooler shop environment by fabricobbling a redneck air conditioner together. My latest attempt is also my most successful so far:
I combined the ideas from attempt 1 (using ice) and attempt 2 (evaporative cooling from a cloth) with a small fountain pump I got for less than twenty bucks. I got the temperature down to 86 degrees in the shop despite an outside temp of roughly 108.
I have some next steps in mind: I have to insulate the garage door (this will make a HUGE difference) and I have to insulate the water reservoir so it stays cooler longer.
Stay tuned. I hope to get the next installment finished later this week.
